Today Lane turned 11 months. I can't believe he will be 1 next month! In celebration of Lane's big day we went to the Gynecologist. Really, I had a three month wait and it just happened to be that I "got to" go see the Gyno on Lane's big day.
We got to the office just in time, we had to wait in the lobby quite a while. I always end up waiting forever at the Gynecologist office, something about babies arriving on their own schedule. Anyway, we finally get called in and Lane is getting restless. I am in my room and Lane is yelling and YELLING. I tried to keep him quite with Cheerios and toys but when I ran out I finally had to give in. I was thinking the Doctor would come in to see me just to get us out of there.
It worked, the Doctor came in. After a little chit chat back and forth she tells me to go ahead and put my feet in the stirrups and she and her nurse start to recline my chair. The chair goes up and back and there is a huge noise. The Doctor tells the Nurse to stop, the Nurse can't see what is going on, remember my legs are wide open blocking the Doctor from view. Apparently, something at the base of the chair has slipped and after multiple back and forth attempts they can't get the chair to latch correctly. They begin debating calling the maintenance man in. Yes, my legs are still spread wide open. I finally say, "why don't I get out and see if you can fix the chair without me in it". Luckily they agree. Whew - I did not want to be in that chair with the maintenance man checking out the problem that my legs just so happened to be spread above! I mean, all modesty went out the window the day Mr. Lane was born, but I would like to spare myself as much embarrassment as possible.
If your wondering, Lane thoroughly enjoyed the show. He sat quietly and watched the whole thing from his stroller. I think he especially enjoyed the loud noises and the look of fear in my eyes. I'm so glad he's a boy, if he were a girl I might be worried he had been traumatized!
Enough about me, here's what you've been waiting for, Lane's 11 month pictures...

What a fun day! Why do those types of things always happen at the worst places and time.
